Comme this November

I’m sure you’ve all seen these photos of the CDG x H&M collection and for anyone interested, you’ve probably already prepared a mental wishlist or are crying away while formulating plans to get your hands on your favourite items.

For the longest time, I wondered if I too would sob away during the launch this November considering the non-existence of H&M stores in our country. I’ve been eyeing this dress since I last saw the previews and while I would love to own some CDG at some point in my life, a collab item would be closer to what the purse strings would allow. I know H&M may not always have the best of qualities, but the price point on this collection was rumoured to be higher than any other collections done in H&M so far. So perhaps then, I didn’t have to worry about cheap materials and shoddy workmanship ruining the design (yes, it’s a high fashion and high street chain collaboration, but it still comes from a high street chain so please forgive my snobbery). They weren’t kidding about a higher price point. This dress will cost USD350!!! Did you choke on your water as I did when I found out? *dabs tissue on soaked blouse*

Still, USD350 is a whole lot easier to swallow than buying the real deal. A friend who’s working in HK has agreed to attempt getting this for me. Bless her for I won’t have to deal with the queues and crowds myself. And since she’s making the attempt, I decided to add the dropped crotch trousers to the list because I have a feeling the dress will be snapped up quickly despite the hefty price tag.

Here’s hoping for at least one out of two!
