OK. I know I’ve disappeared for about 10 days now. This announcement of a short hiatus could’ve/ should’ve come a little earlier. I figured I could leave you (hi mum!) hanging for a bit more but I was starting to feel a little guilty for the abrupt disappearance. And like the good girl that I am, am used to at least leaving notice before heading off.
So here it is. I am off. Not anywhere specific but my mind needs a break. Ideally, I would switch off from work as well but it’s unfortunately not possible. So, I am taking a break from blogging and will be spending the next couple of weeks (tops!) having my head in the clouds, stressing over work, watching/ rewatching Boys over Flowers (both the Jap and Korean versions!), stressing over certain decisions that need to be made and re-organising my wardrobe. I’ll still be dropping by your blogs so it won’t be a total vanishing on my part.

This is SO late and I know tonnes of other blogs have put them up and talked them to death but I still need to put these here. Because, how can I not show some Prada love after every show?
Mmm… the studs! AND the Mohawk fringing!
Although they ARE a bit on the high side. I love the chunky heel but who cares about that stability when you’re practically tip-toeing in them? BUT (more caps!) they’re so beautiful I could cry…
Maybe the stiletto would be a better bet?

I’m starting to wonder if this skirt is too short for me. I’ve had the same question thrown at me by the same person the last three times he spotted me in it. “What are you wearing?” he asks after some scrutiny… I always kick myself for not being quick-witted enough and muttering some lame answer instead. Today’s was “Clothes?”
What I meant to say of course was “What are YOU wearing?” Followed by some scrutiny and perhaps show of disdain for his ensemble. Me-eowr indeed…

George Mallory once said “because it is there” when asked “why do you want to climb Mt. Everest?” I’d say the same about these shoes at the Acne AW09 show. Aren’t they so crazy high that you need to climb into them?
I know platforms have been gaining ridiculous inches over the seasons but this certainly tops it all, at least for now. And I’m probably a little ridiculous too for wanting to conquer the height.

I’m 25 (edited to add: have been for the past few years) and will remain 25 for the next 10 years… It was my birthday yesterday and already I miss being able to refer to myself in third person, ie The Birthday Girl, in every conceivable conversation with friends, colleagues and generally anyone who would listen.
Still no tiara this year. Ah well…
And in case you were wondering if I was busy contemplating achievements to date and future ambitions in the photo above, I’m sorry to disappoint. I was merely waiting for the ice cream cake to melt. Yes, I had an ice cream cake for my birthday. Because we 25 year olds love them. :p
